The BAR32 espresso maker features DeLonghi's swivel jet frother function, which accurately provides the right amount of froth for a cappucino or other frothing drinks . The DeLonghi Bar32 also has functions which include a durable stainless steel boiler, two separate thermostats, a coffee tamper, special self-priming operation, a one hour auto-shut off feature and automatic brewing support.
Making an espresso with the DeLonghi Bar32 is quite simple.
I begin by flipping the switch to "Heat",which begins heating the water and also primes the pump. Be certain that the filter holder is secured to the machine.
You'll notice the "hot" light come on. To ensure that your espresso is poured in to a warm cup, run an espresso cycle without coffee. Fill the cup half-way with hot water, and turn the machine back to "Heat." Your cup should be plenty warm. Fresh espresso in a cold cup is a no-no!
Pour out the water, and dry the cup. Place the pod or ground espresso into the filter, tamp it down, and twist it into the De Longhi Bar32. Turn the unit on, and wait until you've got a full cup of espresso. A single espresso should be approximately 40ml, or 1.5oz. I always measure to see what that looks like in my demitasse cups.
Recently, my wife and I threw an espresso party for some of our "coffee snob" friends. Many of them will not even drink an espresso unless they make it themselves!
Well, we really put the Bar32 to the test. We actually had 9 people to serve. So, i put on my old barrista hat and started cranking out espresso. The DeLonghi Bar32 came through like a champ!
Our guest were RAVING about the expresso!
I've had the Bar32 expresso maker for about 3 weeks now, and I'm happy with it so far. With the pods, it pulls a great single espresso with a very good crema. They have a rich golden color, and taste quite smooth
