Frankly, after spending 2 years in Italy, sipping authentic Espresso, I never dreamed I'd find the same product in Des Moines, Iowa! My wife had mentioned the DeLonghi BAR32 several months ago, but I guess I just wasn't listening.

I finally relented and agreed to buy a home espresso machine, possibly the BAR32. I had worked for Starbucks, and had tasted espresso in Europe, so I knew the taste that I was after.

I wasn't asking for much, I simp[ly wanted a unit that would create a quality espresso, at a reasonable price. My wife kept insisting that I look at the Bar32.

A unit with proprietary coffee pods was not my first choice, unless it was cheap enough that I could afford the money for the coffee itself. It was also important to me that it was pump-driven, instead of steam-driven.

I was stubborn and really did my homework, however I finally decided to go with the DeLonghi Bar32. My wife got a super low price through Amazon, plus free shipping, and I figured that it was a good time to buy the Bar32!

I also bought it because it's a pump-driven model, not steam driven, it doesn't burn the grounds as it brews. I also like that it comes with a single and a double espresso filter.

With the Bar32, you have your choice of using either ground espresso, or espresso pods. You can get the pods pretty much anywhere. They are easy to use, but a bit pricey.

The body of the DeLonghi Bar32 Espresso Maker is made of a hearty plastic and is totally encased in a slick black finish. Despite being sturdily made, it only weighs 10.8 pounds.

TheBar32features a 35 ounce removable water tank, in addition to a completely detachable drip tray. I just love how easy this unit is to clean!

The Pump BAR32 also features a proprietary dual-function filter holder system. This gives the unit the ability to handle two totally separate attachments.

The first attachment is for simple ground coffee and the other is for attachable pods which are designed for different beverages.
